A New Magical World To Discover

The book takes place in the kingdom of Stalken on the continent of the Crescent Moon.

The capital city, Sandown, is located in the foothills of a central mountainous region located in the north of the map surrounded by rolling hills and grasslands.

Dry desert to the northeast called the Pit. The impenetrable ironwood forests of the elves in the Central Midlands.

Mountains to the southwest ruled by giants. Mountains to the southeast where the dwarves rule. Human settlements in the south watery lowlands.

The Crescent Moon gorge where magic is governed from the four elemental towers and the five cities that dwell in the mountains.

David versus Goliath

The fledgling kingdom of Stalken finds itself at odds with another kingdom seeking the wealth of the mountain city of Sandown. Rumor of a mysterious assassin in the area raises alarm about the safety of the king.

Can the small kingdom survive amidst larger ones? Can it defend itself against an aging and corrupted kingdom struggling to maintain control over its own territory?

Swords and Sorcery

A custom fantasy world designed from the ground up.

Magic is its own character in the world and essential to the livelihood of the races. Gifted to the Elves first and then spread to the other races, except the dwarves. The one race highly resistant to magic and unable to channel it.

The primary races were created as opposites.

  • Elves with their affinity to nature and magic countered by the dwarves and their love of stone and resistance to and distast for magic.
  • Humans with their greed, explosive population, short lives, and ability to pick up almost any talent in a short amount of time while being countered by the druids with their affinity for balance, small numbers, and long lives.

More about the land of the Crescent Moon

To the west of Sandown is the kingdom of Letharia and the capital city of Devilwich, who are quite concerned over the new fledgling kingdom and desire its wealth.

The region of Ironwood forest in the central portion of the continent are the home to the Ironwood Elves. They've created the magical ironwood trees and use them as a barrier to all outsiders.

The human city of Sterlingspell in the south central region is wedged neatly between the giants in the southwest and the dwarves to the east.

The Pit in the north east is a land of dragons, orcs, and all manner of nasty beasts unwelcome in the more civilized areas.

Then there is the continent's namesake. Land of the Crescent Moon in the east. Named for the crescent shaped freshwater gorge where magic was first gifted to the elves. Eventually the five cities were settled there and it is where all the major schools of magic call home.
